Piano Smithfield Midweek Sessions: Yaz, Kitty Montague, Matt Ryan, Amy Taylor

Piano Smithfield, 14 Long Lane, London

By overwhelming demand we are so happy to present the first of our co-curated new artist showcases at gorgeous Piano Smithfield. Not many venues can boast a superb Yamaha grand piano onstage, nor match their enviable speakeasy, cellar vibe perfect for artist discovery accompanied by expertly made cocktails and delicious artisan pizza. An absolute gem of a venue.

Four talented artists share the stage:

YAZ

Born and raised in Montreal, Canada originally from Morocco and currently residing in London, England, YAZ discovered his passion for the guitar, piano, singing and songwriting in early 2020. YAZ creates music to promote happiness and well-being to all who listen, all while singing from the heart. His art allows all kinds of people to relate to him and his unique vocals add an extra touch. He not only sings but Rap and Spoken word are one of the many talents that add to his unique style. This artist will provide you with a new and modern sound that has been inspired by the likes of “The Beatles”, “Kanye West”, The Lumineers” among many others!

KITTY MONTAGUE

Emerging singer-songwriter Kitty Montague, fuses savvy pop sensibilities and a vocal drenched with soul influences. Her honest, open and provocative writing draws on an empathetic understanding of the human condition – universally relatable situations, emotions and complexities, poetically exposed.

The arresting talent of Kitty Montague has led her to recent accomplishments such as supporting Gabrielle Aplin for Banquet Records, as well as performing with Sofar Sounds and Secret Sessions. The London based artist is already turning heads in the music space, receiving tastemaker support from Notion, FMS Magazine, Music Crowns and BBC Music Introducing.

MATT RYAN

From selling stationery just a few years ago to sold out shows at Blues Kitchen and Pizza Express Holborn -there is a real hype around singer/songwriter/musician Matt Ryan.

In the Summer of ‘21 Matt released a song “You Can Do Anything” about leaving the 9-5 job and pursuing his artist career.

He has since gone on to working with the likes of Grant Black, and ROMANS songwriter/producer of Ed Sheerans recent hit Joker & The Queen. With influences from Coldplay, Adele and a strong awareness of great pop music you’ll be singing along to the stadium like anthems.
